Larry Letich, LCSW-C, Individual and Couples Therapist, Adult ADHD and ADD, Frederick and Rockville, MdLarry Letich, LCSW-C is a Focusing-oriented psychotherapist who for more than 30 years has helped people connect with their inner wisdom and resources to live happier and more fulfilling lives.

He began his career in the mid-70s and ‘80s as a lay therapist in the Human Potential Movement facilitating workshops and working individually with people while also working as a writer and editor. In 1988 his interests gravitated toward Focusing, the mind-body self-awareness and self-help process developed by psychologist Eugine Gendlin at the University of Chicago, becoming certified in 1995 as a trained professional in the method called Inner Relationship Focusing developed by Ann Weiser Cornell, Ph.D. He and his psychologist wife, Helene Brenner, Ph.D. are the founders of the Greater Washington Center for Focusing and Focusing-Oriented Therapy, offering workshops and individualized training in Focusing-Oriented Therapy (FOT) for mental health professionals and Focusing for both laypeople and professionals.

Counseling and PsychotherapyHe is the secondary author of I Know I’m in There Somewhere: A Woman’s Guide to Finding Her Inner Voice and Living a Life of Authenticity, published in 2003 by Gotham Books, a division of Penguin (USA), written with Helene Brenner, Ph.D. After the book’s publication, he chose to formalize his training by earning a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, so as to devote himself more completely to being a clinician.

Over the years, Larry Letich has worked extensively with people from all walks of life, including those with addictions and compulsions. Currently he specializes in the treatment of anxiety, couples in distress, adults with ADHD (especially those with Inattentive-type ADHD, and gifted people with ADHD), the issues of people in their late 20’s and early 30’s, and emotional trauma. Larry has advanced training in working with trauma and several cognitive, emotion-based and attachment-oriented therapies including cognitive-behavioral, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). He also offers workshops and individualized training in Focusing to individuals and organizations.

Larry Letich and Helene Brenner have been married since 1981, and they have two daughters (and one dog). In his free time he enjoys bicycling, walks on the beach, dancing (especially West Coast Swing and the waltz), traveling, cooking, art museums, listening to music, eating at ethnic restaurants and tooling around in his 2013 Prius.
